QUALITY IMPROVEMENT MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY
To oversee the planning and implementation of the Program activities for efficient delivery of quality HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment for all clients.


DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  •  Oversee the planning, initiation and implementation of HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment services at Coptic Hope Center
  • Train on implementation of Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives in line with the Kenya HIV Quality Improvement Framework (KQHIF)
  •  Develop and Implement a CQI for use at the Coptic Hope Center
  •  Lead the Continuous Quality Improvement activities at Coptic
  •  Implement developed plans for internal Site improvement through monitoring strategies (SIMS)
  •  Train on implementation of Data Quality Assurance (DQA)
  •  Develop a DQA plan and implement DQA
  •  Develop and implement an Electronic Medical Record system in all facilities
  •  Ensure linkage of EMR to other core areas e.g. lab and pharmacy
  •  Build DHIS and DATIM reporting to the EMR
  •  Initial and continuous training on EMR
  •  Assist in monitoring and Evaluation and ensuring quality assurance of HIV prevention, care and treatment programs
  •  Provide technical support on M&E and evidence-based recommendations to the relevant Project Manager and SI Director
  •  Support site staff to come up with research questions and publish them in local and international conferences.
  •  Come up with evaluation questions and conduct the necessary activities to answer them for continuous improvement of services at the clinic and reach donor targets.
  •  Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
  •  Generating M&E reports for sponsors, donors, and grant-funders
  •  Conducting research and perform quality Monitoring and Evaluation
  •  Mentoring clinical and data staff in design and implementation of evaluation science
  •  Advising technical program managers on indicator selection, target setting, monitoring and data quality assessment and validation
  •  Responding to both internal and external ad hoc requests for information; provide data for briefing documents, sites visits and other Team information requests
  • Participating in planning, implementing and reporting on program activities
  •  Communicating outcomes and recommendations to internal and external partners; preparing and presenting monitoring and evaluation data to a wide variety of audiences
  •  Supporting collection and merging of data for M&E in accordance with timeframes set for different reports
  •  Leading internal Data Quality Assessments (DQAs)
  •  Analyzing monitoring and evaluation data for inclusion in program evaluation and technical reports
  •  Guiding the development and review/critique evaluation/operations research protocols, and provide scientific guidance to design of evaluations
  •  Tracking progress against targets, analyze data sets and making recommendations for enhanced program planning, coordination and management of treatment and prevention programming
  • Supporting the documentation of best practices and facilitating the use of such data to drive program design and decision making
  •  Providing information and support in the development of work plans, quarterly reports and annual reports
  •  Leading the implementation of an electronic medical record system
  •  Conducting needs assessment as needed
  •  Writing research articles for publication in peer-reviewed journals
  •  Other duties as assigned by the Program Director/S I Director

 

Education and Qualifications

  • Masters of science in biostatistics/statistics/mathematics/M&E
  •  Bachelor of science in statistics/mathematics/M&E
  •  PHD in the related field is an added advantage
  •  Atleast 3 years of experience in a similar post in the NGO sector with adequate exposure to (PEPFAR/CDC-Kenya grants)
  •  Ability to work independently in a rapidly changing professional environment
  •  Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills;
  •  Strong communication skills (both written and oral),
  • Good analytical and quantitative reasoning,
  •  Strong organizational and time management skills -ability to adhere to deadlines, multi-task and be able to prioritize,
  •  Comprehensive knowledge of statistics and mathematical analysis integrated with computer application
  •  A team player with strong interpersonal skills, and
  •  Ability to learn quickly and manage workload, work effectively under pressure in a demanding environment.
  • Grant report writing skills and evidence of published research articles.
