Come Serve With Us

"The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His Harvest.” (Luke 10:2)

It is with great joy that we would like to welcome you to serve with us at the Coptic Orthodox Church Mission in Africa. Regardless of your nationality, your talents, or your interests, there is much you can do, and much you can learn! Your time in Africa is also ideal to revive your spiritual life and strengthen your walk with Christ. There will be plenty of opportunities for quiet time, prayer, bible-reading and spiritual service.

The people of Africa are friendly and kind and will welcome you with open doors and open hearts, giving even the little they have to be hospitable. You will find the liturgy here to be a celebration of joy where the congregation, from toddler to grandparent, will participate in communion with lively song and bustling enthusiasm. You will truly feel the presence of God in their simplicity, and the scenic beauty of Africa will surely keep your spirit high up in heaven.

Whether you’re thinking of coming for a short-term or long-term mission, there are many different ways to serve God’s people here (spiritual, medical, social, computers, sports) so please take time to prayerfully read through our various programs and ministries and let us know which one you feel the Lord is calling you for. You may even start a whole new and creative ministry. Although the area you selected may become your primary service, you may be expected to help out in other areas as well since “the harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few.”

As with every experience, your attitude will make all the difference in how you perceive your time here. The mission is looking for creative, self-starters with enthusiasm and fiery hearts for the Lord who want to glorify God in everything they do and say. You can be that person and make a huge impact for Christ in Africa!

Long-term Opportunities

There are many opportunities to serve the Lord in Africa on a short-term mission tip, but have you ever considered taking 6 months or one year off from work or school, and offer them to the Lord?

Below we will highlight some of the more long-term service opportunities. Pray to see if God is calling you to serve in any of these areas. We are looking for people who would like to enter the challenge of managing or even starting some of the projects below. Realistically, a commitment of at least 6 months is required to take on such projects.
